This was my mom's recipe that she made at most family barbecues. Very tasty!
1 head lettuce cut into pieces
5 strips bacon
6 Tbsp. vinegar (plain, white)
6 Tbsp. water
salt and pepper (to taste)
3 Tbsp. brown sugar
green stem onions ~ chopped
hard boiled egg - optional
Fry the bacon strips and crumble them up ~ save the bacon drippings
Combine vinegar, water, salt & pepper and brown sugar with the bacon drippings and heat to a boil.
Add crumbled bacon to above mixture
Pour vinegar mix onto chopped up lettuce and toss to wilt ~ add chopped up hard boiled eggs as an option.
